Ariel Ortega has faced many hurdles through out his career. Battling personal issues is nothing new for the ‘Burrito’, so when things are not going well for him, River fans suffer as well. This week has been tough for the River legend as he has had to deal with the loss of River against Estudiantes, the personal confrontation on the pitch with Estudiantes’ Desabato, and a minor auto accident on Monday morning. Good news has arrived for Ortega as he has been called to play against Haiti on May 5th for the Argentine national team.
The 90s was a fantastic era for Ariel Ortega as he played along greats such as Gabriel Batistuta, Matias Almeyda, Diego Simeone, Claudio Lopez, and Juan Sebastian Veron. Ariel Ortega contributed many goals for the Argentine national team, as well assists which turned into goals. His style and attributes helped him succeed in many clubs through out Europe and in Argentina but playing in the national squad always got the world’s attention.
