As in every break between tournaments, the talks of possible transfers coming in and out of the club are the main highlight of the day. Many player names have come across the forums of our beloved website and the media has also contributed to speculation. Below are possible players arriving and departing River Plate.
Possible Signings
Nicolas Navarro (Napoli-Italy) : This young goalie has had close ties with River since his position in Napoli has been filled by another foreign goalie. The chances are that he will be River’s starting goalkeeper in the next few weeks.
Roberto Junior Fernandez (Cerro Porteño-Paraguay) : Another goalie linked with River. Also known as the “Little Cat”, the champion goalie with the Paraguayan club is interested in pursuing his career in Argentina.
Guillermo Pereyra (Free Agent) : Former River player with multiple championships behind his name, he is interested in returning to the pitch and River seems to be the right home for Guillermo.
Joffre Guerron (Getafe-Spain) : A power forward from Ecuador, Guerron could be exactly what River needs to fulfill Radamel possible exit from the club. If accepted, Joffre will arrive at River under a loan contract with Getafe’s intention to raise his value in the market.
Mariano Pavone (Betis-Spain) : Former Estudiantes forward and self-proclaimed River fan, the “Tank” is interested in returning home. The only possible factor from signing Mariano is a salary issue, which almost every club in Latin America faces in comparison to European clubs.
Pablo Pintos (Defensor Sporting-Uruguay) : The Uruguayan defender has been linked to River in the past couple of weeks and he is very interested in cross the “rio” to play with River. Additionally, his representative has stated that he will only be offered to River, an indicator of his desire to play with the Millonarios.
Possible Departures
Gabriel Loeschbor : One of River’s less known defenders, he has agreed to play with Gimnasia y Esgrima of Jujuy in the Argentine “B” League.
Diego Barrado : River’s midfielder has had plenty of playing time under Coach Nestor Gorosito but a Saudi Arabian club has offered much-needed money for the player. Will Diego make the move? It is unlikely since his future would be sealed in the other side of the world.
Sebastian Sciorilli : This defender has been on loan with Colon of Santa Fe and there is a possible chance that Colon could choose to buy the player. If not, he will return to River.
Radamel Falcao : First it was Benfica. Then in was Porto. Now its Zaragoza and Portsmouth. Many important clubs are interested in Radamel but no concrete offer has been made. Last week, Benfica rejected River’s counteroffer and looked elsewhere, which prompted Porto to make an offer.
Diego Buonanotte : Many clubs have also mentioned his name in possible signings, with a close tie with a Turkish club, but nothing serious. As time ticks by, Diego may see another transfer window pass by but football always has its surprises.
Rubens Sambueza : This transfer has become officials and Rubens has travelled back to Mexico where he will play with Tecos of Guadalajara. He has agreed to sign a one year loan with the Mexican side and is looking to prosper in the Aztec nation.
