It’s official: Mariano Pavone is coming to River! After days of intense negotiations with Spanish-side Betis, Pavone will make his first appearance with River in the next few days. River president, Daniel Passarella, promised to do his best to get ‘The Tank’ to play in River and he lived up to his word. Coach Angel Cappa was delighted by the news, and cannot wait to have him in the squad. The agreement was reached on a one-year loan, with an option-to-buy clause.
Mariano Pavone will be heading to Buenos Aires in the next few days to finalize all contractual agreements, and immediately be available for preseason training. It was a long road to acquire the ex-Estudiantes player, but patience won at the end. Finally, Pavone will be making his childhood dream: to play for River’s first division squad.
