With the loss against Estudiantes on July 4th, River not only failed to deliver a victory in front of the home crowd but it lost its winning streak of ten games. The entire home games, including the 2009 Clausura Tournament and the Copa Santander Libertadores, were in River’s favor although some were games resulted in ties. Regardless, River lost the ability to claim home advantage through out the past six months.
The importance of having a strong record at home is essential to maintain the spirit strong in the crowd .The fans are the ones who motivate the team to push forward and have presence against visiting crowds but with deception losses in the past few years, it has been a unique challenge.
