For the first time that I can think of, many media sources have apologized towards River’s players, staff, and fans. In my last post, I touched on the topic of flags displaying hurtful messages to the players. One of the flags that made a great impact with the media was the “History’s Worst Defense”. After the game, these media sources acquired “special” pictures of a similar flag stating “History’s Worst Leadership”. This was in reference to River’s president and those below him. Well, without finding a credible confirmation from a credible source, these media sources quickly posted these pictures on their pages. What they did not realize was that this picture was actually a doctored picture from a fan.
Through out the week, River’s flags became a hot topic. This flag, however, gained tremendous coverage because it targeted those above the players. With a club presidency election gearing up for December, many thought that this act was part of a club conspiracy. Why would the fans only target the players and not it’s leadership when, week after week, referring River president Jose Maria Aguilar was a common gesture? Unfortunately, this flag resulted to be a fake and , coincidentally, Adobe Photoshop’s stock rose. Argentina’s leading sport news’s conglomerate, Diario Ole (http://www.ole.com.ar), had to pucblicy make the apology and remove the pics from the site.
Although the flag never existed, do you agree with its statement?
