Juan Manuel Diaz, the rugged defender from Estudiantes de la Plata, officially signed with River after the closing details were finally resolved with the player’s representative and River Plate. With this new acquisition, River reinforced its defensive line in hopes of strengthening a much-debated section of the team.
Yesterday, after several back-and-forths, River confirmed the incorporation of the Uruguayan defender, who in the coming hours will be subject to a medical review and sign the contract. River acquired 87% of the pass at $1.3 million, with the remainder being left for investment group led by Miguel Pires, the player’s representative.
