After the victory against San Lorenzo, Coach Leonardo Astrada recognized a solid defense and balance in the midfield, but stressed “the attitude that the players had throughout the game.” He also acknowledged that “a win was needed to lighten the spirits of the squad”
Coach Astrada stated “it was a locked match, at midfield. In the first half, we were playing more in numbers, but we lacked depth. And in the second, we had the attitude, we were patient and we won the match.” He further explained that after Affranchino’s goal, “the team had more chances, but had bad luck and confidence to finish.”
But Coach Astrada emphasized a point that he considered essential to achieve the second victory for River in the championship, and the first at home: the attitude. “What we did in the last 25 minutes against Gimnasia (last week), and what we did throughout the match today was with attitude, and with attitude we can fight any team” he analyzed.
Finally, he recognized the value of this victory for the team. “We had a solid defense, a balanced midfield, and we lacked the acceleration to finish the plays. But it was necessary to win for this team to have a positive spirit.”
