A familiar face hit River’s training grounds in Ezeiza and many fans were ecstatic over the news. Ariel Ortega, River’s most glorified idol in recent times, decided to return training with the club after his return from Independiente Rivadavia of Mendoza. The “Burrito” was the main attraction of the morning workout while attracting dozens of photographers to the scene. After finalizing negotiations with the club’s management, Ariel was able to resume his training and return to his beloved club.
After training, Ariel decided to have a mini press conference with the various news sources that witnessed his return and here are a couple of his comments.
– “I have always said that it’s like I have never left the club, I know everybody here. It’s amazing to train with the club and I’m trying to enjoy every moment.
– “River is my home, where I am the happiest. My teammates support me and I thank the players and club management, Coach Nestor Gorosito, for a great welcoming.
With the “Burrito” returning to the main squad, much is expected from him as a supporting role in the upcoming tournaments. The Clausura tournament and the Copa Nissan Sudamericana will have the privilege of having two great, experienced players on the pitch, Ariel Ortega and Marcelo Gallardo.
