Almeyda Enjoyed the Applause

La Pagina Millonaria : Almeyda Enjoyed the Applauses

Matias Almeyda, River’s most notable idol this year, was enthusiastic about the applauses the team received after the match with Atletico Tucuman. During his postgame remarks, he mentioned that he wants to stay with the club and redefined River’s goals until the end of the year.

“It was an enormous feeling heading into the locker room with applauses after coming back to win the match. It was a great day. We owed the fans this game, since they always fill the stands. Let this win be a motivational push and that many wins follow” stated the “Pelado” Almeyda.

In reference to the future, he explained “The important thing is to finish the year leaving a different image of the team in comparison to the beginning of the year. We want to finish the year with as much points as possible. Our goal is every Sunday.”

He also mentioned his fellow teammates in good taste. “The sacrifice that Mauro Rosales, Diego Buonanotte, and Cristian Fabbiani is big; they’re not top goal scorers. For the first time, I think that River doesn’t have a power forward”. In addition, he stated that the club should bring players in for next year’s campaigns.

Finally, he mentioned that he awaits December to talk about his future in the club. It all depends on the newly elected officials, but Almeyda is determined to stay.
