New forwards, Carlos Arano and Leandro Caruso, made their presence known today in River’s first preseason practice in hopes of obtaining the Apertura tournament. Since finishing the Clausura tournament in the end of May, there has been much talk about which players would River acquire. As many fans knows, the economic situation of the club is not strong which forces the administrative side to struggle in negotiations. Nonetheless, Coach Angel Cappa has been patient and slowly, but surely, he has been granted his wishes.
Carlos Arano (free agent and hails from club Huracan) and Leandro Caruso (hails from Italian side Udinese on a one-year loan), were part of a number of players requested by Coach Cappa. Having hadf excellent campaigns in their previous clubs, their desire to play for River were originally stated here in ‘La Pagina Millonaria’. In addition, an old familiar face graced the Monunmental Stadium as well, as defenseman Cristian Nasuti, began his negotiations to return to the club.
The challenge of winning the next tournament and staying clear from relegation is intense pressure in River. As long as players are ready for the challenge, and have the desire to triumph, this could be a great tournament for the Millonarios.
