At first, some expected Ariel Ortega to play against Lanus, but finally Leonardo Astrada didn’t include him. After the match, Astrada confirmed that Ortega will be considered for next time.

That’s why, “El Burrito” will be included in the plans after his last match agains Chacarita. Anyway, we will have to wait and see if Astrada includes him from the beginning.

River reaches the match against Boca with a better present
After a troubled Saturday produced by another outburst of Ortega, Astrada’s team won 2 to 0 against Huracan and secured a quiet week before the Super Derby. On the first minute of the match, Filippetto opened the scoring with an own goal and on the minute 30 Canales and sealed the victory at the Monumental.

It was a hard game but River needed more than ever a victory. Specially after Ariel Ortega deserted the training last Saturday. And 2-0 was the best score to flee from the typical downtown scene that involves the River’s world, even in the days before the visit to La Bombonera.

But of course the party had an anteroom with a verdict inevitable and expected: River’s fans expressed their unconditional support to El Burrito. People cheered and applauded the idol and shouted out loud “Ortega is from River and has to play.” Barely a minute after the game, Rojas burst on the right, fired a low cross and, after an onslaught of Funes Mori, Filippetto ended pushing the ball against his own goal.

Although, that early goal did nothing for Astrada’s team to start rushing against Huracan’s goal. In contrast, while Funes Mori and Canales wasted some plays, La Banda opened their doors to Huracan to try some luck. Two middle-distance shots of Peralta and a free throw by Toranzo realized that El Globo had not felt the initial shock.

Thus, right on the second time, it became clear that the match was open to both teams to score a goal. And after wasting lots of plays, the first was River. Juan Manuel Diaz climbed down the left flank of the field and put the ball on Canales head who undertook the second and final goal. Fortunately, River managed to get another win and it will get to La Bombonera with a better present than Boca Junior.

As a result, lost it has a leading role and no one goes to the very calm to the Monumental.

"El Burrito" Ortega missed the first practice of the week at River
“El Burrito” Ortega missed the first practice of the week at River, after yesterday’s 1-1 draw in La Plata, and phoned Luis Seveso, medic of the squad. La Página Millonaria could find out that it was because of conjunctivitis in his left eye. Ortega had not even gone to the bench since that episode before the match against Rosario Central.

Ariel Ortega told Seveso he was not going to the training with the rest of his teammates, who began to prepare for the derby against San Lorenzo on Thursday, for the seventh game of the Torneo Clausura. The River’s doctor went Ortega’s home, examined him and confirmed the reasons of his absence, according to sources close to him RiverPlate.com. Moreover, it isn’t probable that Ortega will attend tomorrow’s training.

Leonardo Astrada had decided not to call him since his last relapse after the game against Rosario Central, but he also said that Ortega was one more of the squad and depended on him his returning to the trainings. We will se if Ortega could be in the list of concentrates for the derby against San Lorenzo.

A group of Harvard students created a ball that store energy. lamp and
In a complicated today and World, with disasters like Haití and a lack of water and electricity in lots of poor countries, a group of Harvard students created a ball called sOccket, that store energy to use for example to light a LED lamp and seeks to offer an alternative to kerosene in Africa.

Soccer. Football. No matter what you call it, more energy goes into soccer than any other sport in the world.

There is a huge need for cheap, clean, simple, off-grid energy solutions that are vailable for immediate use. In most African countries, 95% of the population is living off-grid with no access to electricity and they rely on kerosene, a dangerous health hazard.

The sOccket helps to empower communities in 3 ways, as a:

1. For-Profit: to generate revenue selling the sOccket as a highend tech gadget.

2. Non-Profit: to use the sOccket to teach life and team-building skills to schools in Africa, partnering with local organizations to create change through sport.

3. Advocacy Program: to unite and inspire people to push for the large-scale energy solutions needed in resource-poor settings.

Jessica Lin, Julia Silverman, Hemali Thakkar and Jessica Matthews are de Founders of this project and they four agree sOccket ball will also benefit its users’ health: More than 1 billion people around the world rely on kerosene lamps to light their homes and businesses. Not only is kerosene expensive, but its flames are dangerous and the smoke poses serious health risks. In fact, respiratory infections account for the largest percentage of childhood deaths in developing nations–more than AIDS, and more than malaria and the World Bank estimates that breathing the fumes created from burning kerosene indoors equals the harmful effects of smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. Thus sOccket is a source of clean energy derived from healthy activity.
